Catholic elementary education is an expression of the important mission entrusted by Jesus to His church. Through Catholic parochial elementary education, the Church seeks to prepare children to proclaim the “Good News”; translate this proclamation into action; and thereby help to make the world a better place. Santa Clara Elementary School (SCES) has been providing Excellence in Catholic Education for over 120 years. However, we can only continue the proud traditions and legacy of our parish school with ongoing financial support.
Nearly every student in Santa Clara Elementary School is a Catholic! In addition, our teachers and staff members are Catholics "in good standing". Santa Clara Elementary School places a priority on the Catholicity of our students, faculty, and school community.
To continue to create an atmosphere focused on excellence in education and faith formation for Catholic students and faculty/staff, we look to generate financial support beyond the required tuition and fees. Our tuition and fees do not cover the actual cost of educating a student at SCES. Therefore, it is imperative that we obtain donors willing to help close this “gap”.
The most effective way to ensure the continued viability of our school is through the SCES Endowment Fund. This fund has the potential to help us continue to achieve our goals of excellence in academics and faith formation; well-maintained facilities; financial aid for qualified school families; and certificated, experienced, competent faculty and staff. However, to truly have a long-term, positive impact our SCES Endowment Fund must continue to grow.
We encourage parents, alumni, parishioners and friends of the school to donate generously to the SCES Endowment Fund. These funds may only be only used by and for our own school. Please contact the principal or click the link at the top of this page if you are able to contribute to the Endowment Fund. All donations to the Endowment Fund are tax deductible as allowed by law.
In order to help generate donations; sponsor effective fund raising; promote creative events to raise funds and attract donors, we have created the SCES Parents Club. This special committee consists of school parents, who volunteer their time, talent, and treasure on behalf of Santa Clara Elementary School and work to help us achieve our goal of "Directed Giving".
We strongly recommend "sponsoring a student" as a way to provide a Catholic education to an individual. This will help SCES continue to offer financial aid every year to the many qualified Catholic students, whose parents desire Catholic education for their children but are unable to afford to pay our tuition and fees. We suggest you consider donating funds toward a "need-based scholarship" or a partial one to a worthy student, to help SCES offset the high cost of providing financial aid. Again, all donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, so please contact the principal directly, if this is something you feel called upon to provide.
In addition to the Endowment Fund, SCES generates an annual “Wish List” each fall of specific classroom and curricular items requested by teachers, and suggestions for donations. All donations made to the SCES Wish List are of course tax deductible, as allowed by law.
Many larger companies offer a “Matching Funds” program, whereby the company matches dollar for dollar donations to schools by their employees. We hope you will research whether or not the company you work for sponsors this wonderful program, and if so, please apply to participate in it. By simply utilizing a “Matching Funds” program, you literally double your donation to SCES.
We have many needs here at SCES. Please contact me personally if you would like to provide a donation toward a specific item that we need that would directly benefit our students. We are grateful for any size donation.
Your financial stewardship and support of SCES will directly and profoundly benefit our students, and help us continue Jesus’ mission of Catholic education at Santa Clara Elementary School.
